Word 2003 CPU usage

D

Have just started using Word 2003 to proof read large documents (500-600
pages) that
have been scanned and ocr'ed by Finereader. I'm finding that just opening
and closing the documents
is rather slow. I have also noted in task manager that winword.exe never
uses more than 50% of my cpu time. Is there a problem with Word 2003 and HT
processors or is this the problem that has been identified with XP when used
with HT procs. Other cpu hungry apps. on my machine (mpeg encoders and the
like) will happily grab all the processor time they can.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
