Word 2003 crashes on the line in this message...

Hello everyone,

I was just flabbergasted at the following finding I had this morning.

I'm dutch, so the text which I'm talking about is dutch text. I keep a
certain text in exchange. A little diary. I used to work with Office 2000
and never had this problem. 2 weeks ago I got a new laptop and office 2003.
So today for the first time I want to add something to my text and it opens
up in Outlook 2003 (which uses Word 2003), the spellingchecker starts to run
and word crashes...

I narrowed the text down to the following line:

gegeven door (en ik ga niet gebukt onder valse bescheidenheid ;-P) de

--------
If you copy-paste this in Word 2003, it crashes, at least here it does with
several people.

I don't know if it has to do with certain settings.

Can anybody reproduce this problem and maybe explain it?

Just open Word 2003 and TYPE the following followed by a enter:

Did you install Service Pack 1 for Office 2003? There was a
problem with Dutch proofing tools crashing Word that was
corrected by Service Pack 1:

I have word 2003 SP2 and it still crashes....

Did you install Service Pack 1 for Office 2003? There was a problem with
Dutch proofing tools crashing Word that was corrected by Service Pack 1:

Sorry, I don't know what the problem is then. You might
search/ask in the Dutch Word newsgroup at
