Word 2003 crashes sometimes when deleting with backspace

It has happened four times now in different documents. The actual text
line turns unreadable, otherwise everything seems normal. The computer
freezes completely, only physical reset is possible.

Someone else experienced this? A cure for this?

More info please. What OS/Windows version are you using? Any other
programs running when this happens, etc.?
