Word 2003 crashes when exiting

When I exit out of MS word 2003, it comes up with a box that says Word has
encountered a serious error and needs to close. This happens only upon
exiting. I installed SP 3 to see if this would resolve the issue and it
didn't. Anyone run into this problem or know of a solution for it?

Hello Clarkcomp,
access word in safe mode ( start>run>winword /safe). If it works in safe
mode , then its an issue with add-ins.

let us know the status.

Thanks for the help. It runs OK in safe mode so I guess will go through the
list of startup items and see which one is causing the issue.

How do you determine which add-in is the issue? This seems to be my problem
but I don't know how to trouble shoot the add-ins and determine which is the
problem.
