hi, I have a similar problem to DJ.
Word 2003 fails to open unless I use Safe Mode or the /a switch, and stopped
me saving any files at all. After removing HP ProtectTools from my machine,
I was able to save files correctly, but am still unable to open Word
normally, even after going through the MVP FAQ.
I set the Macro Security to Medium (as was on High), and get a message when
trying to open Word normally.
Security Warning "C:\WINDOWS\system32\btsendto_office.dll contains macros
if I enable these, Word closes. I do not get this when opening in Safe Mode
or using /a.
If I disable that first one, or use Safe or /a, I get prompted for several
macros, all coming from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Smart
Tag, and using the FPLACE, FDATE, MOFL and similar .dll files. Enabling or
disabling these gets me into the program.
I think this may be causing me trouble, but I know cannot get into Macro
Organizer at all to see about disabling or deleting certain macros.
Anyone able to help?
If so, many thanks!
