Turn on the Drawing toolbar (View > Toolbars > Drawing).
On the Drawing toolbar, click Draw > Grid.
Remove the check mark from the Snap objects to grid... then there will be no
increments.
If you prefer that there are some, just smaller, leave Snap objects turned
on, but change the horizontal and vertical spacing.
