Word 2003 .doc images not shown on MAC

Hi.

I have a Word 2003 .doc, I did myself, where some images are shown.

This doc had lots of images but I removed all except one type, the one
that does not show under Word for MAC.

Neither me nor the chap who works with the MAC understands why these
images do not show under Word for MAC.

Could we have some help, please?

The image is here: http://www.alcachofra.net/sample.doc

Thanks
Henry

Hello Henry;

One of the things you don't tell us is what the file type & source of the
images are, but the images are there. Look in the upper left corner of the
image frames. I was able to crop the frame significantly then stretch it to
enlarge the image. Without specific information I can't hazard a guess as to
why these schematics became so small, but at least they can be restored.

If you continue to have a problem please include OS X & Office versions &
specific update levels. Any available details would be helpful.

BTW: "MAC" is an acronym for Media Access Control ‹ the nickname for
Macintosh computers is "Mac" :)

Bob,

The images were pasted (copy+paste) from Circuit Maker Student Version
(I suppose from: http://my.ece.ucsb.edu/bobsclass/2C/Simulation/circuit_maker.htm
- free use, you can try.).

Something in my mind (who knows why) say there are Windows Metafile. I
suppose that in some circumstance if I save the image I get WMF.

.... As you say, indeed, Mac.

About the versions, the Mac machine is not under my fingers, but I got
the answer:
OSX-> Sneow Leopard (10.6.1), Word 2008 (12.1.5)

Thanks

One major consideration is that the Office installation is quite out of
date... I wouldn't be surprised if the user is experiencing other issues
with Office 2008 running on Snow Leopard at the 12.1.5 update level.

Office needs to have Service Pack 2 (12.2.0) applied as well as the later
12.2.1 update. Have the user run Help> Check for Updates, then repair disk
permissions in order to get the software current.

From the looks of the program you referred to I'm betting that WMF is a
valid assumption. That program does enable Export as WMF & copy/paste
results in WMF as the default for the Windows OS. Although Mac Office can
display WMF graphics they are not supported by the Mac OS. I'm thinking that
the images were modified in some way after being put into the Word file &
that the "recipe" for those modifications isn't decipherable in Mac Word.
