Word 2003 does not reflect immediate changes

Anyone know why Word 2003 professional does not update changes on the screen
until either the mouse is moved over the control or the right mouse button is
pressed.

Would you explain that a little clearer please. What changes are you
referring to: just typing more text? The mouse is moved over what control?
