Word 2003 does not show document changes

Hi experts,

I have a system that had MS Office XP installed and is now running a MS
Office 2003 (german) installation.

I am running into strange Word 2003 "features"...

On some documents (new docs as well as documents from other authors and
other word templates) - but not on all documents - Word does not show
newly edited text until you click somewhere with the mouse into the text
or open a menu. I just discovered that the cursor stops blinking, too, in
these cases.

Does anybody know why this weird behaviour occurs?

Yes, I uninstalled the old Office installation first.
Yes, I did a complete re-installation of 2003 Office.
Yes, I use a completely clean normal.dot.
No, MS Office XP did not show this behaviour.

It could be a graphics driver issue. Does the problem occur if you
start Windows in Safe Mode? If not then try updating your driver.
