Word 2003- EMAIL attachment

I am using Word 2003 and I send emails using different
browser, upon them opening their document the letters are
in boxes, and different characters what can be wrong. I
have used AOL,MSN and Yahoo and they are opening the
files not in attachment but in the browser. Help you can
