Word was working fine until I tried to print. My computer is only a couple
of weeks old and I didn't realize that it was (and still is) not configured
properly to print. In selecting a printer (I'm on a LAN), Word gave me a
general error message ("Microsoft Office Word has encountered a problem and
needs to close") with the options "Recover my work and restart Microsoft
Office Word", "Send Error Report," and "Don't Send". Now, if Word sits idle
for just a few seconds, whether a document is open or not, this error pops
up. As long as I am doing something, such as scrolling up and down, the error
does not appear.I am using Windows XP, if that helps.
