Word 2003, File Open dialog box, mouse over creates pop-up

in Word 2000, File Open dialog box, mouse over creates pop-
up with file info, including the date.
in Word 2003, the date does not display in that pop-up.
again, when you move the mouse and leave it over a file,
for a few seconds a pop-up appears with file info, 2000
date appears, 2003 date is missing.

anyway to get date back inside of pop-up?
does anyone know the correct terminology so I can perform
a better web search?
is it a pop-up? is it a mouse over event? if it is a pop-
up, is it called file info?

This is controlled from Windows. The very last option in Tools | Folder
Options | View is "Show pop-up description for folder and desktop items." I
can confirm that Word 2003 (under Windows 2000) does not show a date. Since
I never had Word 2000 (and wouldn't remember anyway), I can't speak to that.
If you are using Details view in the File Open dialog, you would see the
date anyway.
