Word 2003 file saving hell

I saves my own file in "My Documents". I then tried to open it and copy it to
a CD. All I get now is a file conversion dialogue box that still will not
open it properly. What did I do?????

what do you mean with

-can you open the dokument lokaly?
-did you burn it or do you use something like a RAM Device?
-how big is the file?
-what message do you get?
