WORD 2003 - FORMATTING PROBLEMS

When I highlight a word or a line and then try to format it - font; color;
style; whatever - the entire page takes on that formatting.
Then I click on the 'UN-DO' button and the entire page, except what I
highlighted, goes back to the formatting it was. Very tedious.

Word 2000 also did this. It seems to be a common instability feature with
Word.

I have a Pentium 4; Windows XP Pro with all the automatic updates. Office
2003 is also automatically updated. NortonAV and my tech guy say my hard
drive is squeeky clean... thanks for any help you can give me.

Of course! I always check the 'Automatically update' box. I'll take care of
that right away. Thank you
