Word 2003 Forms: 1. using system username; 2. executing a msgbox

Hi

I have set up a form fill-in on the network to auto populate the username
and current date so that the form recipient knows who is requesting the
information.

When network users open the form it does not populate the current username.
Also, I set up a message box to explain that this form has been converted to
an electronic form and basic form instructions. I set the message box up in
the open event of ThisDocument. However, it does not execute upon opening.

Both of these features work on the test.

Thanks,

Jeannette

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I resolved both issues: they were due to the macro security level being set
to high. Now I have a new question. How can I resolve that issue on all PCs
throughout the network?

You need either to get all users to reduce their macro security level to
medium, or you need to sign the template with a digital certificate, so that
it can be trusted on systems that are set to High security.

You can create your own certificate using the Selfcert.exe utility that
comes with a full installation of Office 2003.

Thank you Jonathan, that is very helpful. Trying to get hundreds of people
to conform is difficult.

Thank you Perry for the information. I will review it, I am sure it will be
a great help.
