Word 2003, graphics not appearing

Graphics often don't appear on screen nor in print preview. In page layout,
the space for the graphic is there, but not the graphic. I have all the
relevant options selected in Tools, etc, and I know this because if I type
anything in the document, the pictures on that page appear. When I scroll to
another page, same thing; no pictures visible until I type something. In
print preview, they do not appear. The graphics print perfectly well, and
when they display, they display perfectly well, although if they are large
(in terms of dimension - not memory), sometimes only half of the graphic
appears.

Try reducing the hardware acceleration setting by 3 or 4 notches
in Start | Control Panel | Display | Settings | Advanced |
Troubleshoot. If this fixes the problem, then you might want to
check the website of the manufacturer of your video card/graphics
adapter to see if there is an updated driver available.
