word 2003 hangs every 10 sec. or so

When working in word, every 10 seconds the cursor turns to the hour glass and
word freezes for a second. Repairs, reinstalls, and updates failed to
resolve this issue. Disabling NAV and turning off the office plugin did not
work. Altering the autosaves failed to resolve this. I see another posting
of what appears to be the same problem by spags today. Any ideas out there?

Hi, Check my post of june 11.
I had a similar problem, caused by a network printer that was not always
"ready".
Installed a "fake" printer on the system where Word is installed; this fixed
the problem.
