Word 2003 hangs

Event log has the following error message:
Hanging application WINDWORD.EXE version 11.05604.0 hang module hungapp
version 0.0.0.0 hang adress 0x00000000. Event ID 1002 Category 101

When looking in the task manager view Processes the WINDWORD.EXE process is
taking up 50% of the CPU with System Idle Process taking up around 48% -

When looking in the task manager view Applications can see the status is
"not reesponding"

User is saving to local PC drive - not network drive

Tried the http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp and got back that there
are currently no MS knowledge base articles available for the specific error
or event message.

The user may not have been doing a spell/grammar check, but Word probably
was. Have you tried disabling the check Spelling and Grammar as you Type
options and testing?

Was the user doing something to 'trigger the shutdown' such as switching
between documents? Have you made sure that Speech Recognition is disabled on
the WS?

: Thanks - I saw that article when I was searching but the user was not
doing
: spell check when it hangs. My plan in to uninstall Office 2003 and
: re-install to see if that clears up the problem.
