Word 2003 Header and Footer Anomaly

When using an image (logo for example) in the Header section of Page One. I
don't want this image to be displayed on following pages. However I can not
figure out how to have it only display on the first page. Using a Break, or
selecting "Different First Page" forces the logo to appear on the second page
and not the first. Also, if I use a one page document, automtically a second
blank page is created.

Can you offer help or advice?

If you use the "Different First Page" setting without a section break,
select the image from the second page header and cut it to the clipboard,
then paste it into the first page header. (If you set the different header
_before_ you insert the image, you can avoid this step.)

The reason for this behavior is that, when the "Different First Page"
setting is turned off in a new blank document, there is only the "main"
header. You put your image there. Then you turn on the setting, and Word
shows the first page header which wasn't visible before. The second (and
third...) page is still showing the "main" header, and that's where your
image is. Word hasn't moved it -- you've hidden it on the first page by
showing a different header there.

You are on the right track, but you need to select different first page
before you insert your image. So, select different first page, insert your
image, then make sure your second page header does not read same as previous
