Word 2003 - Importing Pictures

John Paul

Hi

Just stumbled across a problem with Word 2003.

When a user (on our domain) goes to import a picture, via clipart or File.

They receive the following popup (used importing file as an example)

"
Microsoft Word

The graphics filter was unable to convert this file.
(O:\..\logo.jpg)
"

I have read threads on teh web about changing permissions in the registry
and also the "Microsoft Shared/" folder in Program files - to no avail.

This error does not happen as Administrator!

Here are links to show that I have set the permissions right;

Could anyone offer a suggestion.

Cheers

Hi
did you ever get a solution for this?

The same "feature" has cropped up on my son's laptop - XP SP3 and Office 2003 SP3. Only Word is affected. I cannot insert a graphic or copy a graphic from another app into word.

However, I can open two word docs and copy a graphic from one word doc to the other.

I have completely uninstalled office 2003, rebooted and then reinstalled and the issue has not gone away. I suspect I will have to wipe the disk and do a complete re-install of everything, but obviously would prefer not to...

Any ideas or help?

thanks

Alan

Macropod
yes, I tried that first, but no joy so I uninstalled office 2003, reboooted, re-installed and still had the same problem. It must be something simple, but what?
