Word 2003 Locks Up entire computer

When working in MS Word 2003 I will be in the middle of typing a document and
the entire computer will just freeze. No keyboard, no mouse, from another
computer I can no longer access any shared directories on it, nothing works.
The only way to fix it is to either puch the restart button or power the
computer down and restart it. This only happens with Word 2003. This has
never occurred with Access, Excel, Outlook, Publisher (all 2003). I type
many documents for school and this becomes very frustrating after I type
several paragraphs and it locks up.

There are 100's of problems that could be at fault. However, Word is very
hard on the graphics and printer drivers and these would be the first
suspects. Make sure that you have the latest drivers available and then
reinstall both (deleting the printer first).

Also, clean up your computer before testing Word again: see the following
FAQ for clean up help
