I had a Dell crash last week. Got a new system up and running. In the
meantime had someone copy my hard drive onto disks. In getting the new system
up and running, I reloaded Word 2003, which works fine. Except when I try to
access the files on the disks from my old hard drive I get "path is not
valid. Check the file permissions for the doc or drive. Or use the File Open
dialogue box to locate the doc." I have downloaded a hot fix that was
supposed to fix it. I have turned down security on Word. Won't let me copy
from the disk to paste on hard drive. Some of the files will open, but one of
the ones I really need will not. Is this a macro problem of some kind? Anyone
got the answer?
