Word 2003 not closing correctly

T

Tom

I have Office 2003 FI (SP3) running on a Vista Business SP1.

Every time i close Word, I get an error message saying "Microsoft Office
Word stopped working". Option "Finding solutions from the internet" doesn't
help, and the other thing to do is to choose "Close the application".

Closing informs "Word is trying to recover data". And when trying to open
Word for the next time, always the same box on the screen telling that Word
saved the changes automatically to "Normal" -template, do I want load it
Yes/No.

Don't have any HP printer as a default printer (as in earlier discussions
was suggested), so that should not be the case...

This is a brand new installation, the problem occured before the SP3
installation and still continues after all the updates... And the only info I
get from Word/Vista is this:

Sounds like a bad third party add-in. Test by running in Safe Mode. From
Start, Run (Winkey+R), type in

winword /a

and press enter. Open a document and test for editing and closing now. If it
is OK now, then you have installed something that has placed an incompatible
add-in in Word/Office.

See how to find add-ins

But make sure that you have a COMPATIBLE locally installed printer driver
set as the Windows Default.
