Word 2003 does not load in a wireless environment, but does so when I
have wireless internet disabled. I tried removing the printer driver
and reinstalling it, but I still encounter the sam problem. Any
thoughts?
Two possibilities:
(1) Having started Word without wireless networking, open the Help task pane
and click "Online Content Settings" at the bottom. In the dialog, uncheck
everything in all three categories. Then enable wireless networking and try
to restart Word.
(2) If (1) doesn't work, enable wireless networking; then open the Start >
Run box and enter
winword.exe /a
(notice the space before the slash). If Word starts, then this points to a
problem in one of the three areas turned off by the /a switch: the
Normal.dot template, global add-ins, and registry entries. See
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ProbsOpeningWord.htm for further steps
to isolate which of these is at fault.
