word 2003 "not responding" error message

I can open a new word doc and save it, but when I try to open up any saved
documents word freezes and I get a "not responding" message. It also happens
when I try to click anything under the Help category, even with a new
document. I can't get any work done, can someone please help??

Do you regularly clean out your temp files? That is most likely what
is causing the problem. That...or maybe you have some new addin that
is a problem. Or your Normal.dot has become corrupt.

Check out this article for various suggestion to fix the problem. But
do the TEMP clear first, suggesed in this first article as that's
generally the fastest fix for the majority of problems like this.
