Word 2003 on PC and Word on OS X

Has anyone else opened up word files modified on MS Offfice 2003 and then
tried to modify on Office vX? When I do this I get an error that my disk is full
even though I have over 7GB available.....sounds like an end of file problem
that MS had several years ago....

it would be like MS not to keep compatability between their own
products....be glad when Open Office is fully operational.....

Yes, I do it every day. Enormous complex documents, hundreds of pages,
hundreds of comments, thousands of footnotes. Back and forth with users
on the dark side. In fact several flavours of darkness. Their docs fall
over at about the same rate as mine, often without my contribution. Far
too frequently, but we have the backups.
ps. We abandoned track changes; we do the same job with compare
documents. Comments trip us up most.

See if this helps:

Are you sure its only Office 2003-created files, or is it just that you are
making lots and lots of edits in files someone else created?

Any comments on pasted-in graphics? I use OS X for windows colleagues who
can't read my pics (which I think are in TIFF format).
Same thing when I paste in pics to my email (using "mail").

Tell your Windows mates to run Microsoft Office Update from the Microsoft
website. If they can't read your graphics, it's most likely they are
missing a converter that Office Update will install for them.

Cheers
