Don't know if this will help anyone and apologies if obvious to the rest of
the world - but it may stop some else going mad....
I have recently had a problem with Word 2003 crashing when it starts up if
the pc isn't connected to a network. Once connected all is fine... Or so
I believed.... I tried all the PDF, NAV plugin solutions and none worked.
This morning it dawned on me that it was nothing to do with word etc rather
it was that I had a networked printer configured as the default printer.
In my case the printer is an HP business inkjet 1100 accessed via a LAN
Manager port - but I suspect any printer may experience the same problem.
The solution painfully obvious - don't set default printer to be one that
may not be there....
Hope this helps someone......
