Word 2003 Opens and Immediately Minimizes

I am using Windows XP and Office 2003. Excel and PowerPoint function properly. Word opens and minimizes immediately. Have tried maximizing, repairing program, etc. Cannot view or utilize Word at all. If you click to maximize, it moves quickly up to the left of the screen and does not open.

Any one heard of this? Ideas?

It is probably opening up Off Screen. Open a document and either a second
document or another application in Windows. Then right-click in the Taskbar
and choose one of the Tile Options. This will bring it back on screen. Close
the other document and resize it to fit the screen. Close Word and test
again.
