Word 2003 Part of Office 2003 Small Business

I am using Microsoft's Word 2003 which is a part of the Office Suite.

I cannot insert an underscore in a document.I have tried both the underscore
from the keyboard by holding down the shift key and hitting the dash key,
also tried using the "insert symbol" feature. All I get is a space.

What did miss in the setup.

All help is appreciated.

Try "Control U" or, if you prefer, click on "Format", then "Font" then
check underline and there's even a place there to choose the style of
underlining you want.

Thanks Peter, worked as advertised.

Guess everytime MS puts out a new edition they make changes to the
formatting procedure. The underscore worked with 2000.
