Word 2003 - Pasting graphics

When I alt-printscreen and paste into Word, it seems to paste fine (single
printscreen or multiple), but either can't be seen or is cut off. If I click
on the printscreen I've pasted, it shows the box where the graphic is but not
the graphic itself. If I hit enter or backspace, the graphic appears. I
can't scroll from page to page and have the graphics visible, either.
HOWEVER - this is with Adobe Acrobat 6.0.3 standard installed on my machine.
If I uninstall Acrobat, it works perfectly. Adobe says it's "obviously not
an Acrobat problem" since "printscreen and Word are Microsoft things". Has
anyone heard of this happening? Any suggestions at all?

Try reducing the hardware acceleration setting in Start | Control Panel |
Display. The fastest setting is the default, but is not always the best.

Sorry - should have said, I've tried that and it didn't help. I've also
downloaded/installed the latest video/monitor drivers, played with resolution
and refresh rates, etc. As soon as I uninstall Acrobat, the problem clears
up.

If you uninstall Acrobat and the problem goes away then that indicates
the issue is caused by Acrobat. Unfortunately in that case it is an
Acrobat issue rather than a Word issue.

Thanks for the reply, Beth... That's exactly what I thought, but Adobe won't
take any responsibility for the issue. Luckily I don't need the full version
of Acrobat frequently!

That's too bad. Unfortunately taking responsibility is a common issue
these days...

Glad you have some type of workaround, though. Is it the full Acrobat
or just their Word add-in? If the latter then that's easier to deal
with. You can simply add the add-in manually and load it when you need
it.

It's the full version - doesn't matter whether it's Standard or Professional.
It works fine with just the reader, though. Since I create documentation
for my users and frequently include screenshots, I need that more than I need
the full Acrobat. I have several people with the full version and can borrow
their machines when I absolutely need to. :)
