I have made a document in word 2003, and I used a fill color. However when I
print, the fill color doesnt print. I'm printing in pdf, however it doesnt
print with my hp all-in-one either. Can I print this fill color, if not,
what good is it?

Where did you put this fill color? In a text box? An AutoShape? Shading in a
paragraph or table? If you used Format | Background to add the color, you
need to check the box for "Background colors and images" on the Print tab of
Tools | Options.

Yes, I used Format/Background. Your response was exactly what I needed.
Thank You ( a thousand times).

Note that this will work only in Word 2003. Earlier versions don't have this
option. In an earlier version, you need to use a "watermark" rather than a
"background."

What if you put the color in An Autoshape?
My problem is that I am making a box with graduated fill - using 2 colors
black and black and then applying Transparency from 0% to 90%, shadowtype
Vertical.
The graduation looks fine on screen but becomes all black on print.

PS. I'm using black-black because black-white becomes too light.
