Word 2003 Printing Problem

R

Randy

Hello, I have a Dell A920 printer and have been printing Word 2003 documents
just fine until a few months ago.

My problem now is that when I try to print out an envelope in Word, the ink
comes out green. No matter what settings are selected and the font colors,
it prints out green. This is only for envelopes.

Any ideas?
Thanks

For some unfathomable reason, some inkjet printers use composite black (made
up of the colors in the color ink cartridge) instead of true black (from the
black cartridge) for envelopes and other small-format papers. If you're low
on one of the colors in the color cartridge, you'll get this effect. You can
try changing the color setting in Word from Automatic to Black, but I doubt
this will help; you probably just need to replace the cartridge.

Hi Suzanne,

Wow, thank you. I had just put a new color cartridge in about a month ago,
I rarely print color so I didn't realize there was no red coming out at all.
Seems I got a bogus cartidge. Just replaced it with another new color
cartridge and tried printing the envelope again and it came out black.

Glad you got it sorted. Hope you can get a refund on the defective
cartridge.
