Word 2003 printing problem

K

Kevin

I can't get Word 2003 to print a highlighted word.
In the past I've been able to print a word I had
highlighted with yellow, now for some reason I
can't and I don't remember making any changes
to anything. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi Kevin,

How did you highlight the word? Did you use the Highlighter? Is it a
Comment? Did you use Fill command on the Tables and Borders toolbar?
Does going to Tools/Options/Print and turning on "Background colors
and images" make a difference?

Hi Beth,

Thanks for the reply.

Background colors and images was not turned on under
Tools/Options/Print. But turning it on made no difference.
I'm using the highlighter on the formatting tool bar to simply
highlight normal text in the document. The text prints fine,
but without the yellow highlight.

Strange. Is it visible in Print Preview? If so then it could be your
printer. You might try using a different printer or updating your
printer driver.

Yeah this is really messed up. Print preview shows
the highlight. My printer is working fine and I'm
using the latest driver. Oh well....

Hi Kevin,

What printer are you using?

Another possibility could be your Compatibility settings. Go to
Tools/Options/Compatibility and see if you are using Word 2003
compatibility options. If not then change it to Word 2003.

Beth,

I'm using an HP 1120C Deskjet.

The Compatibility setting was not set for Word 2003,
so I changed it. No difference in printing though.

Nope...turning "background printing" off made no difference.
I'm stumped too. Guess I'll learn to live without it.
