Word 2003 Ruler Not Reading Inches

Hi,
I just installed Office 2003 and the horizontal ruler
won't read in inches. The measurement box is set for
inches but the ruler seams to be stuck in centimeters. Has
anyone had this problem and if so did you get it corrected
and how.
