I have about 10 templates that I have created for documentation. Lately,
Every time I open one of the .dot files to make a change, it crashes when I
try to save it. I have installed all updates and have cleaned out all temp
files. I have tried most suggestions on your site from other crash victims.
Office has been repaired and reinstalled, and I have removed programs I
thought might be conflicting. Programs I need to run: Collage Capture,
RoboInfo Publisher, InfoPath, and Adobe Reader 7.0. My network guys gave me
permission to disable the Norton, but they are not using the Office plugin,
so it may not be the issue.
A side issue is that 4 out of every 10 times I save any document, I get the
dialog box that says it repaired errors in the doc. Today, I recreated on of
my templates and the first doc I created from it crashed when I redefined a
custom style.
Is there a known issue with custom templates? Also, I use fields in the
templates and custom styles.
Thanks,
Deborah
