My Word 2003 SP1 Ctrl-Home key all of a sudden pulls up the Find and Replace
dialog box. Could not find any problem in the keyboard shortcuts.

My experience has been that using both Find/Replace and GoTo (Ctrl G) will
disable Ctrl-Home, Ctrl-End,Ctrl-Page-Up and Ctrl-Page-Down. If you exit Word
and re-enter, the disabled quick keys will come back.

This is a different issue. When you use Find or Go To, you are changing the
browse object. You can easily reset it using the Select Browse Object button
between the browse arrows at the bottom of the vertical scroll bar. But I
have never found that changing the browse object disables Ctrl+Home or
Ctrl+End (unless you're using them for something other than their default
purpose).
