Word 2003 spell check set to hide spelling errors after applying SP1

We deployed SP1 to our existing Office 2003 installations via Group Policy.
Now Word is set to automatically hide spelling errors. It's a relatively
simple fix to modify the normal.dot file, but still, it's weird.

I wonder if anyone else in the SP1 early adopter community has seen this
issue.
