Word 2003 status bar not always visibe

Hi

In Word 2003, I have multiple pages open and sometimes I see the status bar
at the bottom of the page and sometimes I don't even when I make a particular
page window full screen.

Tools > Options > View Tab> Status Bar is selected.

How do I make it always visible? I think I'm using the same page view. I'm
just opening new windows, I think. Obviously, I'm doing something different
or there wouldn't be a problem.

What could this be?
