Hi,
I write in U.S. English, which is set as the default in my Normal.dot
template. However, when I write a word or phrase in Spanish, Word considers
everything I enter after that to be in Spanish. That is, if I type !Hablamos
espanol! (with Spanish exclamation marks and a ~ over the n), then continue
in English, the words show the squiggly underline indicating that they are
mispelled unless the English word happens to be spelled the same as a
Spanish word. I either select the Spanish characters from the Insert Symbol
charts, or them in using Alt+XXX, where XXX is a number typed on the keypad.
The Tools/Language/Set Language dialog shows that Word has switched to
Spanish, and I have to once again set the Default to U.S. English.
Is there an easy fix that will let me use a Spanish word or phrase in an
English doc without having Word change my default language? (I haven't tried
this with other languages, so I don't know if this problem is limited only
to Spanish.)
Thank you.
