Word 2003 Template Saving Prompt

John

How do I stop Word 2003 template saving prompt for documents I NEVER made any
changes to the document. Is there a setting to never prompt for template
saving, or always NO to saving template, especially since the orginal
template came from a read only network share, in which we don't want people
saving changes? This looks more like bug

Are you referring to a document template? If that's the case then you have
something in your template, typically a macro, which is modifying the
template.

If you are referring to documents that you open and then close and are
prompted to save changes then the most common cause of this is the document
contains SmartTags. To remove Smart Tags, go to Tools/Options/Save/ and turn
off Embed SmartTags.
