Word 2003 to Word 2007 Accept all Changes shown

I use track changes often. It tracks my formatting changes which are
mostly irrelevant to the other side.
In Word 2003, I could show just the formatting changes and then accept
all changes shown without accpeting the text edits. I think the 3
commands were Show Formatting/Show Insertions and Deletions/Show
Comments. They would toggle on and off.
I can't find all 3 in Word 2007. Are they still there?

On the Reviewing tab, just below "Final Showing Markup" is "Show
Markup." There you can turn off "Formatting," among other things.
(Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to make such selections
stick: I have no use for "Ink," so sometimes I remember to uncheck it,
but it always comes back; perhaps it could be included in a startup
macro.)

To the right of that stack of menus is a big "Accept" icon. Click the
arrow below it and one of the choices is "Accept All Choices
Shown." (Presumably it becomes available when some changes are shown
and some aren't.)

Me, I find the Show Formatting changes to be incredibly intrusive and
distracting, so I always turn it off immediately (under Track Changes
Change Tracking Options) as soon as one pops up. (Also "Moves,"
which turns out to be utterly useless.)

To make the display settings selected under Show Markup stick, you will have to turn off the "Make hidden markup visible when opening or saving" option in the Trust Center dialog box (Word Options | Trust Center | Trust Center Settings | Privacy Options). Note that the option is user-specific; if you send the document to other people, what they see will be determined by the options chosen or their machines.

However, if you prevent Word from tracking formatting, for example (in the Track Changes Options dialog box), that setting will be saved with the document.

But that, we have generally agreed, is not a Good Thing.

Indeed, deselecting the privacy option is not recommended. It is, however, possible if you are feeling adventurous. :)
