I notice there are other entries on this subject. The proposed solutions did
not resolve my issue.
I have Word 2003 on an XP-Pro system, all SPs installed. Dual processors,
2.4 GHz, 2 Gb RAM. Windows Live OneCare is the antivirus/firewall
application.
When I open any document, I experience frequent short delay events. The
hourglass icon appears briefly, then typing can resume. Typing results in
delay events. Selecting text results in delay events.
Scans indicate no spyware or adware. OneCare indicates no viruses.
I have suspended the indexing service (cisvc.exe) - no change.
I have turned off speech recognition. Keyboard is U.S. only.
Processor load hits all of 11%. But while the delay is in effect - no entry
can be accomplished.
Thoughts or ideas? (Other than doing something horrific to the machine...)
Thanks.
