Word 2003 - Using connector lines with tables

Trish

Hi, I have done a chart using Tables and I wish to join some of the boxes
(these are identified simply by putting a box border round particular cells).
I know this is probably not the perfect way to do such a chart, but I
copied it the way it was done originally. Anyway, I would like to know if I
can use connectors, or whether that ony works with AutoShapes. I did try,
and my connector toolbar was all grey. Many thanks for your help

Trish,

For Word 2003, connecters cannot be used directly with tables.

Connectors can be used with text boxes, if the text boxes are placed upon a
drawing canvas.

As an addendum, a table can be inserted within a text box.
