Word 2003 versus Word 97 - Graphic on Envelope

I used Word 2003 to create an envelope with a logo for an organization I
belong to. The format is the graphic logo to the left with the return
address just right of that. I've been using OK without any problems, as long
as I'm using Word 2003.

When I tried to share with another member of the organization, who was using
Word 97, the logo kept on jumping up or down above the address. I attempted
to solve this by making the return address a "header". This time the
envelope looked OK in Word 97, the logo was in the right place, but the
envelope would not print. I've tried this with 2 different printers (both
HP, 1 inkjet and 1 laserjet) and get nothing. Any suggestions?

Put the graphic and the return address in the cells of a two column, one
row, borderless table

Doug:
Sorry, I forgot to mention that I did just as you said (in both Word 2003
and Word 97); i.e., logo in left column and return address in right colum of
borderless table.

It was only after I put the borderless table into a header that the graphic
logo stabilized in Word 97; i.e., on the same level as the return address.

My problem really is trying to figure why I can't get this to print in Word
97. It just seems to lock up without providing any type of error message.

Again, I had no such problems in Word 2003 and I can continue to get good
results and can print the logo envelopes to my heart's content.

Hi =?Utf-8?B?SlRS?=,

If the logo was "jumping up and down", then it wasn't inserted INTO the table.
It must be formatted either in front or behind the text. Word 2003 tables and
graphics support many things that Word 97 never "heard of". Next time you're
doing something for people who use a different version, it will help to
activate the "Disable features introduced after" option in Tools/Options/Save.

Activate this option. Start over with a new envelope document. Don't try to use
the Header. Set up the table on the envelope. In Tools/Options/Edit specify "In
line with text" for the "Insert/Paste pictures as". Now insert the logos into
the table.
