Word 2003 will not allow attachment of a digital certificate

Alright, here's the problem. We are trying to attach a Digital ID Class 3
digital certificate from SafeScrypt (Indian Verisign affiliate) to Word 2003
and other documents. We're following all listed procedures in the Help
recommendations, but when we finally click "Ok" to finish the attachment, the
certificate doesn't attach. HALP!

I'm no longer using Word 2003 so I can't see the instructions in Help. What
are the exact steps you are performing
