Word 2003 will not spell check!

all options are set to suggest as you type but it does nothing. Also will not
find any errors with "check spelling" or F7...I don't know what to do but am
desperate! Went through the vast maze of support knowledge bases but
nothing...any help would be most appreciated!

I have realized that it won't correct some fonts. That seems to be the
problem, even in publisher...grrrr! Is there any way around this?

I have the same problem. I also notice that the little "spell check"
animated icon at the bottom of the word window keeps indicating that the
program is doing a spell check - but it never never stops!!

Wish I could figure out what to do...also it cuts the words off and doesnt
break the sentence in the right place...could that be because of the fonts?

More likely it thinks you're using an Asian language.

I've set my language to English (Australian), but I continue to have the
problem. The program refuses to spell check as I type. I must do a separate
spell check (F7). The program will do a grammar check automatically (green
wiggly line), but not a spell check. I suspect that the only solution might
be to re-instal the program.
