Hi Fred:
Ah hah! That nails it
You can't do that
An Outlook "Folder" is not really a "folder", it's an attribute attached to
one or more messages within your Outlook database.
By design, your Outlook data store is designed to be secured against
attempts to read it from "outside" (including another email message). If
you are connected to an exchange server, most of the data resides in the
server itself and is not available even to yourself unless you are connected
to the server. As this protection is tightened up, mor and more things such
as this will stop working. It was a massively unsafe design which enabled
viruses to become the most expensive problem in computing.
If you want to save model emails, save them as Word Documents in a folder on
your local disk, with any images embedded in the documents. Wen you copy
those into an email, the text and images will be copied in as local
components in the email itself. Not only yourself but all your recipients
will then receive the components.
Of course, you should be very sparing with formatting and graphics you send
by email. The more of them you have in each email, the more likely the
recipient's Spam filter is to dump your message sight-unseen at the other
end. If you want the highest chance that a message gets through, sent it in
plain text, with no formatting, links, or graphics whatsoever.
Cheers
