Word 2003 won't let me type more than 1 page, how do I change this

When I get to the ind of a page of text or whatever, the cursor dissappears
and nothing more I type is shown. On the bottom bar, it only says there is
1/1 pages. I can not get a second page. I have uninstalled and re-installed
office 2003 and this did nothing to change the problem.

In a given document that exhibits this problem, go to Format | Columns and
click on the One preset picture, then click OK. If this solves the problem
in the current document (and you are seeing it in all new documents), then
you will need to open Normal.dot and make the same change. For instructions
