Word 2003 won't open

I have the same problem that David has on 5/10/07.

I cannot open Word or any Word docs. The Word box opens then goes to the
bottom task bar but will not open. A file goes to the task bar and will not
open.

I have deleted my Microsoft Office files and reloaded them from the disk,
but that didn't help.

I ran winword.exe \a and Word opened up. I think that means that the
templates are corruped, but I don't know how to fix that.

Does anyone have explicit instructions on how to fix it? I am not computer
savy so will need a detailed walk through.

Thanks,

Sara

Yes. Word is opening up off screen. Open TWO Word documents and then
right-click on the Taskbar and choose one of the Tile options. This will
bring both back into the main screen: close one of them. Size the other to
get the windows central and close it. It should reopen in the same position.

Alternatively, open up one document and right-click in the Taskbar and
choose MOVE. Use the arrow keys to bring the windows back into view,
position and size correctly and close.

Thanks Terry,

I did everything up to the "size" part. I clicked on the size line and I
got a + icon for my pointer. What do I do with it? I didn't see a box to
size the file - - just "size" along with "move" "minimize" etc. in the same
drop box.

I have been struggling with this for a few days now and want to take a
hammer to my computer at this point. Bear with me please.

Also, I ran dxdiag and there seems to be a problem with the 3D part of
DirectX9.0c. Are these things related maybe?

Thank you for any help,

Sara

You size the window by dragging the top, bottom, or sides with your mouse.
