Word 2003 + XP - Inserted object - Icon will not display

Hoping an expert can give me some good advise... This is my bosses computer.

Inserted Adobe Acrobat object - as file - display as icon. Adobe Icon is
not defaulted. Searched for Icon file - found & selected in
c:\windows\installer\ {AC76BA86-7AD7-etc...} Icon still does not display.
Went to convert & got a -file not found- error message

Other objects inserted display icon OK. XL, word etc...

tried again to insert Adobe object & still did not default Adobe icon.

I'm stumped....
